Made for More!

St. Albert and Holy Angels Youth Ministries are offering a Theology of the Body Weekend Retreat for all area teens! This revolutionary teaching, given to us by Pope John Paul II, says that our bodies are holy and good! Instead of dwelling on the consequences of impurity, it shows the deeply satisfying freedom that comes from having a pure heart.

At this retreat, you will discover the beauty and purpose of sexuality, and why it is a major part of our ability to love. You’ll learn that the Church actually teaches and believes that human sexuality is really important, and good, and beautiful. It is actually meant, in a sense, to point us to heaven.

Click Here for a Youtube Video about the Retreat!

Family is invited to attend 10:30am Sunday Mass

Please take a look at the team devoted to organizing this amazing experience for you.

Retreat Education Facilitator: Theology of the Body Education Coordinator. Courtney Brown: A Louisiana native, is described as “extraordinarily gifted” when it comes to working with teens. A dynamic speaker with over 10 years of youth ministry, teaching and retreat experience, he loves to talk to teens about truly experiencing the redemption of Christ and how to listen to His voice. He hopes to challenge teens to live a life of chastity with the love that never ends: the love of Christ. After spending time with God, family and ministry, Courtney trains for Iron Main triathlons in hopes to one day qualify for the World Championship. Courtney has a B.A. in Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville and his M.A. in Theology from Our Lady of Holy Cross College.

Theology of the Body -Kenosis outreach team: The team of college students is intimately linked and will work together in order for their seeds to bear fruit. This team’s mission is focused on sharing testimonies and giving presentations to youth groups and high schools. Other activities this team is involved in includes delivering retreats; witnessing as part of In Control for Pregnancy Centers East and West; traveling with Ruah Woods as a teen speakers bureau; speaking at CREDO, Cast Your Nets or other citywide events.

He also works part time as a music minister at the Church of the Holy Angels in Dayton and plays occasional church and coffeehouse gigs and wedding ceremonies. He also volunteers as one of the co-coordinators of the Dayton regional chapter of NSAI (aka the Songwriters Workshop).
