Bringing the Gospel to Life

“I give you a new commandment: love one another.  As I have loved you, so  you also should love one another.” John 13:34

Bringing the Gospel to Life

This program will challenge each of us to love as Jesus loved.  In many important areas of our lives, we plan for and track our daily activities and progress toward our goals.  However, it is just as important if not more to focus on how we are progressing spiritually.  We need to plan and track our spiritual growth because our ultimate goal in life is defined for us: to love as Jesus loved, i.e. to be holy people.  The essence of this program is for each of us to develop a personal, spiritual development plan and use it for guiding our lives to holiness.  Ready to try this?

Personal Evaluation

The first step is to do an honest evaluation of your current spiritual life.  Click here for directions on how to prepare for your personal evaluation.  You should create a written copy of this evaluation and re-visit it periodically to see if you are making progress.

Spiritual Development Plan

Your personal evaluation should enlighten you on where you need to improve on your spiritual growth.  Click here for directions on how to prepare your personal development plan.  Once you have established your plan, write it down and carry it with you.  Read  your plan daily as a reminder of your intent.  If you are comfortable with sharing, review your plan with others.  Valuable insights can come from those around us.  On a weekly basis, be sure to review and, if necessary, revise your plan.

Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” -St. Francis of Assissi

For reference, click here for a sample plan.  Each of our development plans will be different, because, like a fingerprint, each of our lives is unique.
