Ushers greet parishioners, find seats, and find volunteers to take up the collection during the preparation of the gifts.  Ushers select gift bearers from the congregation, distribute bulletins after Mass, and assist any individual who needs information, becomes ill, or needs special attention.  At times, ushers also take a general census of attendance.
