Announcements

Welcome Margaret Wager, New Pastoral Associate!

It is with great joy that I announce that Margaret Wager has been named Pastoral Associate based at Ascension!  Margaret is a longtime parishioner and has been involved in many ministries and events over the years.  She has regularly volunteered to “fill-in” for regular staff members while they have been out of the parish.  Margaret and her husband, Mike, have participated in many ministries and consider Ascension and the Kettering Catholic Community a big part of their lives.

Margaret’s duties will center around liturgical events, funeral planning and general assistance to the priests and deacons.  Margaret will officially start in June.  She replaces Cathy Magness who will be retiring later this summer.  I am so grateful to Cathy for her tireless and incredible service to Ascension and the Kettering Catholic Community and look forward to Margaret joining the staff in new and special way!

The Kettering Catholic Community, and pastor Father Ed Pratt, are pleased to announce that Mrs. Gabrielle Ambrosius has been named the new Principal at St. Albert the Great School.
She will replace Mrs. Sherry Gabert who is pursuing an advanced degree and certification in school counseling.

Mrs. Ambrosius is currently in leadership at The Miami Valley School working in the Intervention Department. She has a certification for teaching children with dyslexia and a strong personal interest in special education. A graduate of York College (York, PA) and holder of a Master’s Degree from Marshall University (Huntington, WV), Gabrielle also has served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Dayton.

When asked about why she would like to be in a Catholic School, she replied,
“Wherever Christ would have me go, I’m strongly invested in the ongoing work of both faith education and best teaching practices. I’m a visionary leader who will seek to make decisions guided by prayer, our Church’s teachings, collaboration and strong research-based pedagogy.”

Mrs. Ambrosius and her family are actively involved in their Catholic faith as her children attend local Catholic schools and her husband is a professor at the University of Dayton. They are members of
St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Springboro.

Mrs. Ambrosius looks forward to starting as Principal this summer.  Special thanks and best wishes go to Mrs. Sherry Gabert for her dedicated, faithful and
extraordinary service to St. Albert School and Parish. Thanks, too, to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Catholic Schools Office and our local Search Committee for their assistance in the selection of
Gabrielle Ambrosius as our new leader.
