Update on Fr. Chris
Our Friend Father Chris Worland—Update from Father Ed
Attached is a letter Father Chris wrote to the parishioners of his Family of Parishes in the Loveland, Greater Cincinnati area. Keep Father Chris, our former pastor of St. Albert, previous pastor at Ascension and Dean of the Dayton Deanery, in your prayers.
Important message from Fr. Chris
Dear St. Columban and St. Margaret of York parishioners,
I am grateful for the welcome I have received in Loveland over these past few months. It may come as no surprise when I share that I have had some struggles with being the Pastor of these two very large and very disparate parishes – each with its own school. I have reached out to the Archdiocese to help me work through this. After several conversations, it has been decided that I should take a sabbatical. This does not necessarily mean a permanent change in my assignment. The assignment process will be determined in the coming months. Please keep me in your prayers as I will keep you in mine.
Many of you know that Father Chris and I are very good friends, travel buddies and brother priests. I have been in contact with him and he sounds good. He simply needs some time to rest and reduce his stress level. He will be at a retreat center speaking with professionals who can assist in his care and return to priestly ministry.
Please keep all priests in your prayers. The recent changes in our Archdiocese have added new and different responsibilities for all our priests. I have appreciated your prayers and concern for me as your pastor. While there have been moments of high stress, there also have been many affirming and rewarding moments as well. I will admit that I wish I had more time for rest and relaxation, but I am here to stay for a while.
Your Brother in Christ,
Father Ed Pratt
